A photo has gone viral on Facebook after an Aussie photographer captured a picture of her friend one hour after giving birth.

Melissa Jean captured this image of her friend, Alyce, sporting a disposable ‘nappy’ and sports bra.

Jean captioned the photo “One hour after giving birth… looks stunning… in a nappy.”

The photo has been reacted to over 1400 times on Facebook and has been received well with positive comments.

“bloody love this !!!! f****** hooray to any one that shows it how it is,” one commenter wrote.

While another added, “Go mumma!!!! She looks absolutely amazing, nappy and all!”

While some mums shared their own experience after birth, “you are looking great!!! I was not allowed to make any movements for a whole day… and I walked like a granny for several days.”

Alyce described how the photograph came to be to The Daily Mail.

“It was a totally impromptu moment – I’d just had a shower when Melissa said we should take a photo,” she said.

“She’s been a personal friend of mine since she shot me during my first pregnancy and after the birth of my first son.

“I thought I would have her present after giving birth to Lachlan for some more photos, and had literally just hopped out of the shower when she decided to take the shot.”

Alyce leads a pretty active lifestyle which mainly involves running round after her toddler.

The inspiring image is one that celebrates the afterglow of giving birth. Not all mums will resonate with the image, but it’s lovely seeing the positive comments no matter what birth experience each of us have gone through.
