Kmart Quilt Has Scared Parents Through Baby Monitor, Australia Wide

When Taylah Devaney’s husband jumped up to run to their daughter’s room, she thought something terrible must have happened.

The mum followed her husband to find him staring at the cot quilt they purchased from Kmart the week before.

The dad had looked at the baby monitor and had thought there were black spiders on the quilt. Instead it was the gold stars pattern on the quilt.

Unfortunately, they looked like enormous black spiders on the monitor.

Taylah shared her tale on the Kmart Mums Australia Facebook page.

“I purchased this $15 cot quilt from Kmart about a week ago,” she said.

“Tonight my husband put our daughter to bed, turned on the monitor and went to sit down.

“Then out of nowhere he jumped up with a panicked look on his face and raced into her room.

“I said, ‘what’s wrong?’ He goes, ‘you’re going to laugh at me…’

“‘See that pattern on her blanket? I thought it was a big black spider in her cot.'”

When Taylah looked at the cot quilt through the monitor, she understood why her husband had reacted the way he did. She thought the gold stars looked like spiders too.

“Totally see why he thought it was a spider,” she wrote. “Definitely looks like it! Luckily they’re just pretty gold stars.

“Safe to say I almost wet myself laughing. Thank you Kmart.”

Taylah isn’t the only parent to have received the same shock. Other parents shared their own experience with the same quilt.

Yep we have the same one and I’ve thought the same thing not once but twice. Done the big sprint down the hallway. Don’t really know what I was going to do if it was a spider,” wrote one follower.

While another admitted “I thought the same at a glance. Such a good dad protecting his little girl.”

Who knew gold stars on a quilt could cause such a shock?!
