Find Out Why This Dad Will Never Ask His Wife Why She Takes So Long Getting Ready in The Morning

Children can make life interesting and sometimes a little testing. Some of the most simplest of tasks, like getting ready in the morning, can take forever when you have kids.

It’s something mum’s learn the moment they have their baby.

There is so much to remember. Make sure the baby bag is packed. Check baby’s nappy before heading to the car. Make sure the boob you were breastfeeding with is placed back under your shirt and bra. Find the car keys. Crap, where did I put my car keys when I came home from mother’s group yesterday?

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Add in multiple kids with multiple drop-offs and it’s any wonder mums are exhausted by 9am. The mental dialogue is wearying alone.

Until you become a parent, it can be hard to understand how much time it takes to get kids ready for the day. Nearly every task becomes a slow-motion chore, so it can be offensive when another parent, (and most often it’s the dads), say ‘why does it take you so long to get ready?’

One dad Devale, from the popular YouTube vlog, The Ellises’, admitted he will never ask his wife what’s taking her so long again.

The overwhelmed Devale shares on his video, “It took me an hour and a half to get both these kids ready. I burned like 1,500 calories.”

The dad filmed the video outside, while holding one of his sons. He explained his wife would usually get the boys ready for the day, but on this particular day, he was in charge of getting the boys ready, which usually doesn’t happen.

The morning routine was interrupted with poop, an outfit change, his older son getting undressed and by the time the dad got both of his boys dressed, he realised he wasn’t even dressed.

“I’m so tired, I don’t even know where I’m at right now. I just want to go home. I just want to go home and take a nap.”

I hear ya Devale.

Sometimes you have to experience it before you understand it.
