A Mum Discovers a Secret Room And Turns it Into Something Awesome For Her Son

It’s every child’s dream to have a space they can call their own, to hide away from the world. Parents Sarah and Steve from California have been able to do that for their 4-year-old son, unexpectedly.

When the family of three moved into their new home, Sarah noticed a mini doorway on the wall of the room designated to be her son’s bedroom.

Sarah and Steve didn’t expect to find an old storage room with a pitched roof. Their then two year old son had no idea about the room, so the couple put a dresser against the door, while they contemplated on how they could put the room to good use.

A year later, they decided to turn the area into a play room as a present for their son when he turned 4.

The couple took a year to fix up the space by installing wood laminate flooring, new walls and mouldings. A new coat of paint brightened the room. Sarah decorated the room by collecting items from Ikea. When the room was finally finished it looked awesome.

When their son turned 4, the couple gave him clues that lead him to the secret room. When he reached the dresser and mum and dad pushed it aside, their son was blown away by the surprise.

How many parents wished their child had a secret room to hide all their toys and general crap?
