Girl Has Doll That Looks Just Like Her Sick Brother

Henry Nolan has spent most of his 6 months of life in hospital attached to machines and waiting for a heart transplant. His big sister Nora, who is two years old gets through her days missing her brother with her replica doll of Henry.

Henry who was born 12 weeks premature has two incredibly serious heart conditions and his parents were told shortly after his birth that he would need a heart transplant to survive. As he waited on the donor list in hospital in Minnesota, a family friend made a beautiful doll for his sister. The doll has tubes and wires much like Henry’s and her mum Mollie Dolan told Mirror Online “She walks around the house calling it her ‘Baby Henry’. When she can’t find it, she says, ‘Where’d my baby Henry go?’ It’s so cute.”

“As far as coping goes, she doesn’t fully understand things yet, but she knows baby Henry is sick and that he’s in the hospital getting better.”

Henry is still in hospital, however last month on October 16th he underwent a heart transplant after the family learnt there was a donor match. His family say he is doing well and are feeling positive even though they know he has an uphill battle ahead of him.

Update: Little Henry is home with his family and doing well. You can follow his progress on the family’s Facebook page here.

Emily Lockley is 32, which she thinks is a great age by the way, still young enough to want to have fun and just old enough to not really care about the dramas of your twenties.and not where she thought she would be. In saying that for the most part, she loves where she's at. Great partner, loving family, amazing friends, living in Melbourne..blah blah right?! There is always something else we want, for her that's a baby, but it's just not happening the way she thought it would. Emily is an infertility blogger who writes of her journey through fertility treatment and the longing to become a Mum in a very real, raw and honest way.
