6 Weeks into the Family way – What to Expect?

Pregnancy is a life changing experience with its own share of fun and difficult moments and as they say each woman is different and so is their pregnancy, so the symptoms in the sixth week may vary. But, the excitement totally stays the same given the fact that a woman will be a mum now in less than a year’s time. In 6 weeks, the pregnancy in the overall outer appearance doesn’t show in a big way, but the mother starts feeling the changes within herself as the pregnancy signs and changes in hormones are now making headway. Some of the most common symptoms that most women experience when they are 6 Weeks Pregnant:

  • By this time most women gain about a pound the exact figures however differ in every woman
  • The morning sickness, the nausea and overall uneasiness too starts in the expectant mothers in the first trimester, but for some these might occur late
  • Spotting again is a common sign and it is advised to consult the gynaecologist or the personal healthcare provider to ensure that everything is fine
  • Breasts might start getting all tender and swollen
  • The feeling of fatigue and tiredness all the time is also experienced by most of the women; some fortunate expectant mothers may not experience any such thing during their sixth week
  • The darkening of skin surrounding the nipple or the areolas starts around this time.

The hormonal changes start albeit in an abrupt manner leading to bodily changes. The feeling of being pregnant sets in more and more with the symptoms, but as mentioned above these differ from person to person. The discomfort and the uneasiness is not a welcome change but worry less as once the first trimester is over, these signs will fade out too. Also, mothers will start getting more accustomed to the pregnancy symptoms as time passes.
