Big Family Little Income – A Blog Worth Following That Needs our Support

Big Family Little Income is a blog that will have you laughing after each post. The family blog, written by Bruce Devereaux, is always a delight to read and can literally turn a bad parenting day into a good one. But in the last week, many of the readers, myself included, have followed the blog closely with heartfelt despair as Bruce shared the tragic health issues that his beloved wife is currently facing.

Bruce’s wife Tracey, is currently fighting for her life in ICU after she unexpectedly fell ill after suffering an aneurysm on her small bowel over two weeks ago. The family were about to embark on a new change with Bruce resigning from his job to be a stay at home dad to their 7 children (5 still at home and the youngest is 3) and Tracey was to work full time.

But Bruce never got to finish his last day at work. Bruce has been by his wife’s side after her health deteriorated quite quickly and their kids have been looked after by family.

Every update has been hopeful about Tracey’s recovery despite the dire health circumstances and the prospect of Tracey being fed by a tube for the rest of her life. Unfortunately Bruce’s recent post admitted today would be the day they would know more about Tracey’s prognosis. We are still unable to confirm how Tracey is.

Despite no income coming through, Bruce has asked readers to donate money to Care Flight, who flew Tracey to Brisbane.

Bruce’s previous workplace, Bank of QLD in Gympie has set up an account for financial donations to assist the family during this difficult time.
