Father Overwhelmed by Response to Tommee Tippee Cup Search for his Autistic Son Ben

Last week we brought to you the story of one father’s mission of collecting a supply of discontinued Tommee Tippee cups that his autistic son, Ben, will only drink out of.

Marc Carter, 42, launched a worldwide search for a particulate Tommee Tippee cup that stopped being produced 10 years ago.

The post on Twitter was shared around the world and Tommee Tippee offered to organise postage for any cups that were found lurking in people’s cupboards.

In exciting news, Tommee Tippee have been able to dig up old manufacturing plans and are going to make a special batch of 500 cups just for Ben.

Ben will not drink from any other cup and has been hospitalized due to dehydration when offered a drink in a different cup.

Mr Carter is ecstatic about the news and shared it via a YouTube clip.

“I need to share some exciting news that in no way I can write down in few enough words that would fit on a note I could share on Twitter…it’s not gonna happen,” Carter said.

Mr Carter then explained how Tommee Tippee had found the mould to make Ben’s blue cup and were willing to make 500 cups so Ben has as many cups as he needs for the rest of his life.

Mr Carter had been transitioning Ben to use other cups people had sent in after seeing his tweet. But the struggle has been difficult as some of the cups have still been different to the original style Ben is used to.

Mr Carter is hopeful he will be able to get Ben to drink from the new cups being sent his way.
